Kielder Observatory, Kielder Forest
Sold Out
We're thrilled to announce the return of our society's flagship activity. This will be the biggest and most exciting event of the year for AstroSoc.
At the observatory, we will attend a special event about the universe's origins and use their ginormous telescope for the most exciting stargazing session of the year. Light pollution at Kielder Forest is at a minimum so expect an amazing night's view. There will also be hot chocolate and snacks for everyone.
The trip will take place on the 13th of November, Thursday. We'll meet at 17.15 in front of the Ogden Centre and travel via bus to Kielder Forest. We aim to be at the observatory by 19.45 and be back at Durham by 1am.
Tickets will release on Thursday 7pm, 30th of October. You have to be a member of the Astronomy Society via the SU website to buy a ticket.
Important Note: Please pack or have dinner beforehand. There won't be an opportunity to buy food anywhere on the journey.
