How should your students’ union make decisions, and who gets a say? Spoiler, you do!
Join our first Assembly meeting of the year and help shape how your Students’ Union works from elections to policy to academic reps. All students are welcome and now, thanks to new rules students voted for, you can speak, attend and vote.
At the start of this year, students approved a new set of rules called our Articles of Association. These set out the foundations for how your SU is run. Now we need to bring them to life.
That means updating our Standing Orders, the detailed rules that explain how everything actually works day to day, and we want your feedback on what these should look like.
Not everything is changing. Just some key parts that shape how students get involved, influence decisions and make change happen. Specifically, the Standing Orders being reviewed are A, B, C, D and G. We will share more detail on how the new Standing Orders might look on Tuesday 28 April.
Want to feed in early thoughts? Email dsu.governance@durham.ac.uk.
Or just turn up, listen in and join the conversation. And yes, of course, there will be pizza.
Please note: as this event is only for Durham students, please ensure you bring your campus card along.
